Welcome to The Coopers’ Tool Museum

The collection of coopers’ (barrel making) and other woodworking and trade tools was started in the early 1980s and has been added to constantly since then. I am keen to purchase any type of old woodworking and carpenters tools, coopers tools, wheelwrights tools, shipwrights tools and other trade tools, please contact via the tools wanted page of this website.

About the collection.

This is a private tool collection located in Sussex, UK which was started in the early 1980’s. The collection is at present not available for viewing but as I get the items sorted and catalogued they will be added to the website.

The collection contains one of the largest collections of coopers’ tools under one roof but there are also tools from many woodworking trades, national and locally made edge tools and an extensive library of tool related books and ephemera.

Some of the tools in their new home, slowly getting sorted out.
